Definitely. Even full time bloggers/writers are barely making 20-30k/year.
Not to mention that you also have to compete with older, laid off workers that have 20+ years of experience on you.
At ESPN I worked with Matt Mosely, who does a talk show now but used to be the NFC East Blogger for ESPN.
He made more since he had been with ESPN for a while, but he said the bloggers at ESPN make about 30k a year and work from home.
He also said he hated it and would not wish having that job on his worst enemy.
