y such small caliber for a keep at home pistol? .380 is for a keep in your pants pistol.

Yep, but it wouldn't be a .380. For home get a shotgun. If you don't have a place to put it and just have to have a pistol get a .357 revolver or a .45 Ruger LCR for the revolver and you really need to look at different pistols to see which one fits you best. Start with S&W, Ruger, Springfield, Glock, Sig

The caliber or a particular pistol? I dont mind the caliber, kinda low powered for hd. I'd prefer a 12/20 ga by the bed before a .380. As far as nightstand guns. I have a .40 and a 20ga on my side and my wife has her Bersa .380 on her side. WE STRAPPED TO DA NINES!

If you're gonna keep it at home, you may as well get a 9mm. For one slightly bigger than a pocket 380, I suggest the Kahr CM9. It's one of the smallest 9mms on the market.

I didn't really know much about it, I thought it was a little too small.

A .380 will kill a person, but should probably be considered the back up gun to your back up gun.

I've got a Walther knock off that was made in Hungary. I leave it in my wife's car.

If you keep it in your home, there is no need to get a small gun. You can get a full size or a compact and have: Better sights More control Quicker Full-up shots More rounds in the magazine Longer sight radius Ability to attach a light Easier to rack the slide There may be others I'm missing, but those immediately come to mind. I'm of the opinion that a shotgun is best for home defense, but if you want to leave it in a drawer, a full sized 9, 40, or 45 will do.

Get this shite outta here. Sure there is a need, if all you have are large guns.

You forgot to keep the first part of my statement. If it's a dedicated home defense gun, it should be full sized. I never said "don't get more guns." Buy them all, damnit.

I'm not familiar with that model. If it shoots good and has been reliable for you then I think it's great.

PK380 or PPK? Both aren't as good as a full sized 9mm IMO.
