re: Hunting a high-fenced enclosure

If you are hunting big buck in a high fence it isn't the same as taking a free range deer. I wouldn't want to brag about it or mount it.

So if you got the opportunity to shoot a 200" deer inside a 2000 acre high fenced ranch, you would not mount it?

Its HF, there is no difference in a huge buck and a doe. Theyre all pets so get the doe meat and be happy.

You can always give the doe meat to a foodbank. Check around your area for that. Have fun shooting for the head.

No offense, but to those of us with no land/time to hunt you sound pretty spoiled.

I always love the cliche statements prefaced by "No offense", which always end up with a statement passing judgement. Just for the record, I am only spoiled by what I have earned, and when speaking of deer hunting, I have earned very little in the past 3 years. 1 doe to be exact

Go fill your freezer up. Don't shoot the mans bucks if he says not to though. Don't be that shitbag.

aww well man if you have only killed 1 doe in three years, go head and stack up the freezer. sucks that he kept going back on his word but its still deer.

If him going back on his word twice bothers you that much, ask him about it. otherwise go tear up the does

Edit: i have only shot one deer ever; rather the ducks..

Depending on the number of acres under high fence he probably knows a number of his big deer and will notice them missing.

Also I recommend not taking another call from him, it seems like every time you do he takes away the ability for you to shoot something. Not much left after does...

The next call he is going to ask to hunt on your property.

My morals won't let me actually go up there and lay waste to any of his bucks. I guess I'm just venting, because I am mad that he completely changed his mind on the whole deal, and I was told by others he did the same to them. I will surely take the does and fill my freezer. When I'm eating fried backstrap on Sunday, I'm sure my outlook will have changed.

Say you kill that deer in your sig pic (which I would bet money is on a high fenced ranch) you wouldn't put him on your wall? I understand the reasoning its not the same trophy as killing a free range deer....but come on, that thing would make a beautiful mount and would be put on my wall in a heartbeat.

He hunted on my family property 2 years ago. He brought a .458 Lott to hunt with.

I said "no offense" because I was saying you might want to word it differently. I should have been more clear. My bad.

I've given you shite about it, but I would shoot one for free. It's like picking out a piece of nice free furniture or art for your house. It would look good on the wall

I'm just frustrated with the situation. No offense taken.
