I'm late to the party, but can vouch for what Downshift said (what I read of it anyway). There is a reason our club has been in existence for for over 80 years and will continue to be (ALL on leased land), and it isn't because we are like the barbarians most of you have been describing.
Some dog hunters are some of the most foul, vile, unsportsman, disgusting human beings there are. Some are some of the best people you'll ever meet.

Yea we aren't running dogs this year.
Voluntarily for those who must know.
Hopefully we'll get to resume next year.

I'd rather see bow hunting banned. Dog hunting is an advancement in the sport compared to bow hunting...really...just think about it. Cut that antiquated , archaic shite out. Get a pack of dogs and lobby for more dog days in the season.

Think it through. Using dogs was an advancement for mankind. Bow hunting is cheap ...dirt cheap compared to feeding dogs all year...paying vet bills....just for a few weeks of hunting. Running dogs requires a helluva lot of skill in breeding, raising, and handling dogs...plus investing in the deer hunting itself. Bow hunting is a cheap, brainless effort in comparison. Fact. I've done both...and I've hunted longer than most of these posters' mothers have been alive.

One day you neanderthals will truly evolve to our hunting method: pay a sherpa or aborigine to hunt, kill, clean and cook/package your deer. We are true hunters.
