I used to say I would give my job about a month's notice. Not that I would work everyday like normal...but I wouldn't leave them in a bind. Over a month I could complete necessary tasks while they get someone to fill the position.
Now I would bail immediately and give $25k to the 2 or 3 people I would be screwing that would have to pick up my slack.
I would have to figure out with the wife how to handle family. She would give a ton while I would give very little (in regards to the large amount). I'm in the camp of paying off all debts and houses and $2M (grossed up after taxes) to each immediate family member...3 parents alive and 3 siblings. Everybody else can kiss my arse family wise.
I have 1 friend that would never have to work again and my wife probably has 2 or 3. Probably give them the same family deal. With family, that's 10 people getting $2M each. I don't know the tax situation, but it's probably steep. So $30M-ish given away and my conscience is clear.
Then I would set up a main home somewhere with property and space. Fill it up with toys and luxuries...pools/spa area, indoor basketball court and gym, bowling alley, batting cage, movie theatre, ect.
Then I'm torn between apartments in a few key cities (NYC, Florence, Rome, New Orleans) or just travelling and staying at luxury hotels. I think I would probably stick to the home base and a New Orleans pad and spend half my time travelling the world.
I definitely wouldn't work or be involved with anything that required consistent time commitments. I really like to travel and would be content globetrotting. I would get involved in some kind of charity work that will help me both feel good about my contribution to society plus give me something to get involved with. I would be interested in something to do with veterans and/or sick children.

To answer the OP:
Get a financial advisor, do some investing.
I'd give some cash to the (grand)parents, get them a solid house. Would build my mom a sick arse house. Give the Aunts and uncles a few grand. Continue school til graduation, go to law school. Take next summer to visit around the world, bring family and friends along. Take buddies to Vegas. Get a condo in South Beach, probably get a boat. Get an old school Yenko Camaro.
Probably wouldn't spend more than $5 million in the first year.
