1 gallon on workout days.

On non workout days, only when I eat normally which is about 20-30oz/day. I never get thirsty.

Keeping extremely hydrated is one of the reasons the appearances of getting older have been staved off. Isn't the reason I do it, I just have a habit of drinking something constantly.

11.25 gal?

If you want to use 180lbs as an example. Drink 90 ounces of water. Half your body weight in number of ounces.

I know the rule of thumb eight, eight ounce glasses.

I drink very close to this. I usually chug two 24 oz sparkling waters per day plus all the water in between.

I've been having trouble staying hydrated lately

Crystal light (I'm a cheap bastard in college so I buy the knock-off wal-mart brand). I make this shite and I can easily down 2 pitchers (I believe each pitcher is 2 quarts) a day if I don't have anything else around to drink.

I buy a variety of flavors to keep it interesting. Lemonade, cherry, grape, fruit punch, etc.

eta: also the eight 8oz glasses a day is just an estimate and it doesn't include the water you get from food (fruits, vegetables, and meat) like it should.

Sparkling water too. The carbonation makes a big difference to me. I can chug almost 100 oz a day of sparkling water.

It makes it different. Something about plain water is just stale and boring.

Ice cold water is fricking amazing when you are hot and thirsty as hell, but just throughout the day I am more inclined to drink something with a little more flavor.

re: How much fluids do you drink a day
I don't drink many fluids at all. Actually, I was telling someone the other day how I can go a whole day without drinking something just about. A little water or soda with a meal and sometimes I get an urge to drink some water at a fountain but other than that I just don't get thirsty or think about drinking a lot.

How bad is this?

It will be pretty damn bad when you pass those kidney stones you are building.

Same, and club soda. It's about all I drink.

re: How much fluids do you drink a day
I mean on days when I play some ball or workout I drink while I'm there and try to hydrate - but if it's any other day where I just go to class, walk around campus, etc - I just don't get the urge/idea to drink much.

My diet the past three days has been mainly alcohol, cranberry juice, coke, and a glass of water here and there. I'm not giving any fricks.

Drinking tons of water does great things for your skin. I've learned to appreciate it as I have gotten older.

re: How much fluids do you drink a day
I went through a phase where I carried a little 20oz water bottle with me, sipped on it throughout the day and filled it up 3-4 times. I had to piss every ten seconds it seemed.

The lack of humidity where we live likely plays a big part too Roger.

I know at the house in Colorado I drink much more water than when I lived down south.

ETA - What does your humidity typically run up there? I forget you live near water.

Oh yea. You will have some nice kidney stones in the future.

How much sodium do you take in?

ETA Hopefully you don't use creatine.
