| Is there anything you guys always keep in your kitchen? (Posted on 11/23/12 at 4:44 pm)
I always have some tomatoes. If you have tomatoes, you have a meal. On a leftover day, crush the tomatoes, add water, salt, cayenne pepper, and anything you can find around the house. Today, I had tomato-based soup with ham, green beans, carrots, and corn. It was delicious. Just thought I'd share this with the F&DB. So what do you guys do/have when you seemingly have nothing in the house? Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving

Quinoa (kee-wa). The ancient grain. This is largely an unknown food because it's both cheap and healthy... which doesn't fit into the industrial food system very well. This should replace rice and pasta 99% of the time, far healthier.

It's not so unknown now, practically every recipe on Punchfork and food blogs have quinoa recipes
