| Heads and Tails Oysters (Posted on 11/24/12 at 7:22 pm)
Went to Heads and Tails today. Got a sack of oysters. Iced them down when I got home. A couple hours later, the girlfriend and I tried one. It was the worst oyster I've ever had. I am used to Shuck's in Abbeville. Looked on the tag they had been delivered two weeks before, from Texas. They sold me a two week old sack of oysters. Do not buy... you might get the Hep.

Well I would bring it back if they are really bad but I never leave the place without checking tags in the first place. It wouldn't have made it out the door with me.

Raw seafood... they've been sitting out for two weeks.

I'm used to Shuck's in Abbeville which is extremely reliable so I unfortunately trusted them. I definitely should have check. Just a warning.... Lesson learned

I've got a gallon of Wilson's that was delivered to me this afternoon. They were shucked in Houma this morning. Haven't decided what to do yet but I've been eating them out of the bucket for now.

they tasted tasted like they had been sitting out for days. when i was shucking them they peeled apart wayyy too easily, like they had been warm for a while. ive been eating oysters all my life, and they were the worst ive ever had. ive never had a sack that tasted like this (spoiled). not trying to bash them directly, just trying to warn people.

Take them back and show them. That's what I would do.

Dude I would be prepared for the ER if any part of that was swallowed. Yeah the oyster was techically alive for two weeks, simmering in his own personal sewer of the crap they consume from the bottom of the sea(filter clean through gills) for that long. Mom dealt with too many examples of oyster diseases, but what you are talking about is off the scale of measuring, as you are talking a bi-valve petri dish.
