Lennon said: "He has looked very good, we have been very impressed with him. "We are hoping he will stay around for a few more days and we can talk with his representatives." And the manager added: "I haven't had the chance to sit down with everyone and discuss it but myself and my backroom team have been very impressed."
I know theres an American thread but this is good to hear for him. Celtic would be awesome.

I would also like to not see him regress as far as leagues go. It's a tough choice.

If Celtic is in Europe for a while, which they should be, that would be a solid move in my opinion.

I would agree with you guys except that Scotland didn't seem to do too much for Bedoya and Edu. Also I worry about Juan getting injured.

If Celtic can continually qualify for the group stage of the Champion's League, it would be a decent move for Agudelo. That's a huge if, considering the recent performance of Scottish teams in the qualifying round of the Champions League. Other than that, it's pretty much a lateral move from an upper tier MLS team (NYRB, not his recent Chivas foray) to Celtic in terms of league play. Celtic is certainly a better football culture for a player to develop than any MLS club. Sacha Kljestan moving to Anderlecht in Belgium is a better move, considering the recent upward trend of players coming out of that league. I think Agudelo would be an excellent fit at a competitive Eredivisie side, like a PSV, AZ, or Feyenoord. It would help him to be in a less physical league than the SPL, considering his recent rash of injuries. I may know nothing about Scottish football, but the UEFA coefficient has the Scottish league ranked below such stalwart leagues as the Swedish Allsvenskan, the Romanian Liga 1 and the Belarusian Premier League. But a certain poster on this board will call you out as trolling for pointing out this fact. And yes, I would put my money on MLS being better than the Belarusian Premier League. I would love to see Juan in Holland.

This should be the U.S. youth program's new strategy: send all of our young attacking players to eredivisie to become scoring machines.

There's are a few differences between Juan and the other two: 1. Juan doesn't suck 2. Juan would actually be being managed by a competent staff, unlike Edu and Bedoya were last season under McCoist.

I could care less about Edu at this point. Glad he's in the prem, but he's not nearly as promising a player as he was when he left MLS. Also, Bedoya was one of our better looking wing options as of last year, so no, he doesn't suck.

I've seen him in more than just the Gold Cup. Trust me, he's terrible. Doesn't this look awesome: And Juan says frick Boca and Edu:quote:
But if the Colombia-born striker does join Neil Lennon’s side, he will be bracing himself to feel the wrath of Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra. Edu, now at Stoke, and Bocangera, on loan at Racing Santander from Ibrox, talked up the Scottish game to Agudelo on international duty last week. ... ‘I’ve found it great – I’ve got to know all the players and Neil Lennon is a great coach. He’s very respectful the way he speaks with me. He’s just told me to go out there and have fun.

There's a reason he's nowhere near a call-up from Jurgy.
