Haven't seen them this year so not sure of 10 yard shotgun. I'd think they still run their offense.

I'm fairly confident Evangel will score at will. I doubt Carver will keep up.

Well i haven't seem them since they were 5A. I don't get too much 2A football news down here if it deals with a Shreveport team.

Have to take Parkway's stats with a bottle of salt. One of the weakest strengths of schedule in 5A and played two 20+ seeds in playoffs. They have seen nothing like Barbe.
All they can do is play the teams on the schedule. You are right though, Barbe has some great athletes. The only thing that we can really compare is the common opponent. Both played Byrd and Parkway won convincingly at Byrd and Barbe won at home. I hope its a good game.

Do you not see the fallacy with this statement?

Give me anyone from Parkway with half of the recruiting buzz as Trey Quinn and Desean Smith. How many teams in the nation have 2 receivers, yes I know Smith is a TE, with offers from LSU? Like I said, I'd LOVE for Parkway to beat Barbe. Much shorter trip next Friday. Being honest, I don't think Parkway wins. Then again, Barbe hasn't been very impressive thus far in the playoffs either. I still say Barbe by 14.

"Don't overlook Ouchita" "Traveling 5 hours, after Thanksgiving, will be the death of Rummel" "Ouchita is bigger and more physical than Rummel" That's the dynamite insight we have gotten so far. I guess these guys' nephews and sons are hearing these things at school, running home to tell pappy, and pappy comes to TD with the scouting report

Loading up for the trip to Shreveport. Trying to get up there and settled to watch LSU have some pork for lunch, then watch the Cubs beat Evangel Jr.

Is Rummel pretty good this year? Ouachita always has trouble getting past the 2nd round of the playoffs. I dont think they have the squad this year either.
Ouachita already made it out of the 2nd round this year. Their two loses came to the defending 4A and 5A champs. They also put a beat down on Evangel. They have a better team than they are given credit for. The new running back Dora is a beast, you have a WR(Thomas) that comm. to Stanford and then you have the Simms kid at WR that will be able to punch his ticket to any school he wants. Their QB rushed for nearly 300 yards last week. I really think they are going to surprise Rummel and I think it will be by at least 2 scores.

Sounds a lot like st.aug...and we saw what Rummel did to them. The team that's being overlooked is Rummel. All I keep hearing is about ouachita's size and speed.

in person once.. on film 6 games.... got a nephew that plays.....for rummel ouchita in person none on film 4.... I have seen both practice in person...... Funny ya;ll always say I am anti new orleans and catholic league - yet folks outside NOLA that read my football blog - say I am a catholic league guy.. heck even one of my son's coaches calls me a catholic league guy. MOST folks only see or know in depth about football in their metro areas... I talk to coaches, referees and retired coaches all over the state... Heck - every year I am asked to get back into coaching and refereeing - not gonna happen - I like being able to watch my kid play... and watching whomever I want to. What I DON"T do is buy into the NoLa and more importantly catholic league superiority complex. This ouchita team - is the biggest and fastest team rummel will play to date. They have just enough speed and are physical enough to give them a lot of trouble... DO i think rummel will still win - yes... but it's gonna be a lot closer than many of you think - If ouchita gets a break or two rummel could be in trouble.. I do think this is that catholic league's best shot at a state title since 97...... Historically - playing in the monroe are and monroe area teams has been very bad for NoLa schools.. especially the catholic league schools... the one notable exception is ouchita... but the lions still have an overall winning vs catholic league. Rummel had a lot of trouble with a weak DS team - but the qb was banged up.. what you folks in nola never seem to realize is there is awfully good football outside of new orleans... and I like Jay Roth.... heck we were even very briefly team mates... I hope they win state - I just don't like the remaining matchups for them...
