VOR, I respect your opinions and respect that your points of view are different than mine. But from someone that works with this every day as both a provider and a business person, this statement is quite frankly assinine.
Private insurance companies and government managed insurance providers are not anywhere in the same realm in terms of functionality or solvency.

I can honestly say, I have never recieved a letter from a private insurer stating, "Hey, I'm sorry. We are out of money. We might pay you in a few months for the services you provided, but Congress is on vacation right now. We will get back with you."
I get this shite yearly from government payors.
