Has anyone on this forum sympathized with Hamas? In addition: quote:
"The president said that he was committed to seeking additional funding for Iron Dome and other U.S.-Israel missile defense programs," the White House said.
Is this some kind of a joke?

The "Iron Dome" is by far the coolest US weapons system I've ever heard of

Funded by us. AND Hillary and Obama get peace prizes and great accolades from their state run media. And Obama tells his brothers how to get through the defense easier to win. Then all hell will break loose again.

I'll give the over/ under at a month and take the over but I'm thinking it won't be too far over that line. They've been fighting since Abraham took his wife's slave an had a child( Ishmael/Arab) with her bc he wouldn't wait for God. Then his wife Sarah has a child (Isaac/Jew) and here we go. God had a covenant with Abraham but because he didn't wait, Abraham screwed it up so the covenant was split and they've been fighting ever since. They will continue to fight until the end of time.

Horse hockey. If you want to get religious with it - the reality is that the Israeli/Palestinian situation is political interest with a religion costume on it. Here is the reality from two perspectives: As Chrisitians - the New Testament (Galatians Chapter 3) clearly defines the "Seed of Abraham" to be Christ. Those who believe in Christ are the Church (or Israel), and heirs to the Promises made to Abraham. Is this the Holy Land? No, it is everlasting life. That is our Israel and this is clearly defined. YET, Churches teach that we must support Israel (the Zionist State) because.....well, I don't know why - but it sure isn't Biblical. With respect to Judaism, even Zionism - I will leave it up to my Jewish friends here to expound on what is promised to them since I don't feel I am knowledgable enough to your teachings to say. However, I know what Zionism says - but I don't equate that to true Judaism. So, I believe there is a lot of brainwashing going on, and Dispensational "Christianity" welcomes armageddon because they long for the return of Christ - despite Christ Himself instructing us that "Only My Father in Heaven" knows when that day will come. Yet they still try to figure it all out. The fact is, the struggle is more about power and control than it is about God and Faith and religion. The solution? Respect. Respect for differences. Christians and Muslims (Arabs) should respect the Jewish beliefs of "the Promised Land," even though Jews and Arabs have and can live in relative peace. Jews should also respect that the Holy Land is and was home to people of other faiths (Arabs).

Thats a great solution, except there is never going to be any coming from the Arab side.

Do you think any good solution would ever come from the Netanyahu government and the Likudniks?

Yes Likud protects the country. Only a right wing government can make peace with the Palestinians. Like Nixon going to China etc. Maybe this cease fire is a step forward. Credit to Morsi and credit to Hezbollah for staying out of this

Then what's taking Bibi so long to put a credible offer on the table? Why did Bill Clinton recently call him the biggest obstacle to Mideast peace? Ad why would he continue with the West Bank property confiscations and Jewish-only settlement building if he's interested in a future peace deal with the Palestinians?

I use it in the contemporary sense, as the State of Israel exists and the original goals have been met the original movement had been accomplished. It is the political movement to continue the expansion of the Israeli state. I really don't give a tiny rat's arse about what they do inside of Israel, theocracy, corruption, bigotry, my problem is with their involvement in US politics and governance and our support for their criminal activities in the support of the Zionist agenda. What they do to their neighbors, in the occupied territories and to us is my concern.

It's a shame they don't have modern weapons. It's tough to expel an occupying force without them.

I hope you realize you think it is a shame Hamas doesn't have more modern tools to more effectively kill Israeli civilians. It is also tough to expel an occupying force that isn't in the gaza strip. I suppose you could rant against the blockade, but thats because you want Hamas to have better weapons.
