1972...LSU 28 - Notre Dame 8. First experience as a kid in Tiger Stadium. Fell for them hook. Line and sinker ever since.

1969 Charlie Mac sent an autographed football to my hospital room following major brain surgery. Have not missed a game since. Radio,TV or at the game since fall of 1970.

1988. I don't imagine a lot of young kids REALLY follow sports. We went to LSU games, but I wasn't watching games on TV or following them before that.

1972. My uncle was a head football coach at another Louisiana school and had retired. He played at LSU in the 1930's. after his retirement he went to all of the LSU home games. He would come into town and on Saturday mornings go to Tiger Stadium to talk with Coach Mac and the other coaches he was friends with. On occasions he would bring me. I was 5 years old in 72 and he brought me and when we got there I got to meet all of the coaches and walk through the Tiger locker room with Mac. I can vividly remember walking by Bert Jones' locker and see his jersey hanging in his locker. Mac took me of the field and threw passes to me in the end zone. It was a thrill then and I've got goose bumps thinking about it now. Been hooked ever since.

My first real memory of being engaged in watching a game was the 1972 Astro/Bluebonnet Bowl vs. Tennessee. Bert Jones vs. Condridge Holloway. We lost 24-17 and Holloway outplayed Jones. First game attended was Rice in 1973 and I was hooked from that day on. Made my Dad stay to the last play and he hated traffic so it was quite a sacrafice for him.

Exactly. That point for me was at about age 12, the 1986 season. Like you said, yeah I would go to games with my dad from age 4 on up, but didn't really enjoy it and get fired up about it like I do now, until about 12 years old.

1979 against USC in Tiger Stadium. This was my first LSU game and I was fortunate to attend with my dad. A great memory.

1969. Arthur Cantrelle, Tommy Casanova, Butch Duhe, Eddie Ray, Andy Hamilton, Ken Kavanaugh, Mark Lumpkin...went to the Tulane game as my first game. I was 8 years old...listened to the games on the radio with my father and brothers. I will never forget the next year when we played Archie Manning led Ole Miss on national television and won 61-17. Then the Orange Bowl v Nebraska and Cantrelle goes out for the game in the first quarter. I still watch all games on TV and have a conference call with my 82 year old father and one of my brothers with headphones on all game. Make it to one game in TS every year and to most bowl games.
