...and it's been on the market for over a year. The best part is, it'll only cost me $25,000. This really sucks, but I dont see the market improving any time soon.

Went and looked through a 2300 SFLA home that the developer in a neighborhood built. Way too big for me & my wife. Upstairs bedrooms open into jack & jill bathroom, downstairs is built for entertainment... They had it on an auction site for $99K, and even tried to rent it for $1,650/month. No bites, no bids yet.

Because I now live 700 miles away and I know nothing about real estate or renting/leasing. I just want to be out from underneath this house, so I will sell it for a loss and move on with my life. Frick the housing bubble.

That's why I'm jumping on this offer. I don't know when the next one will be, or how bad it will be.

You could have hired a property manager for 10% of the rent to take care of everything for you. Of course, the benefits of doing that depend on what you could rent it out for vs. what you are paying in principle, insurance and taxes. Might have been better than taking a $25,000 haircut though

Maybe, but hopefully I sell it and it's done. I can take the $25,000 hit.

A good deal today is better than a great deal tomorrow. That great deal may not come for many more tomorrows.
