Been going on since Monty got here. Obviously the talent is severely depleted, but this trend has to eventually subside.
Also, Roger Mason is the oldest player and somehow he's the worst player on the court.

Roger Mason is at best a spot up corner specialist. Nothing more. Yet we have no other option.

He'll idk, it may not even be him talking. They need to do something though. Some games they're hot in the 3rd, some are terrible. Something's gotta give. Idk

the opposing team has a coach too. They adjust to what we are doing, and we have no way to counter that.

When their best players are healthy and they have better depth/talent on the roster.
NYC is playing like the best in the league. Hornets have promise, but they still have a ways to go before that turns into reality.

Looking here I found that we are actually 16th in 3rd quarter points and we have scored more points in the 3rd than the 2nd in 5 out of our 9 games.
I still think it warrants criticism, though. Last year we were 29th out of 30 teams in 3rd quarter scoring with 21.8 points. In 2010, we were 23rd.
Last season we scored 45.8 points (25th) in the 1st half and 43.3 (29th) in the 2nd half.
Like you said Cordeaux, this may not be fair as we obviously don't have our full compliment of players. Just something to keep an eye on.

The many issues on thia team are masked by the talent being paid for that is not playing. Lewis, Gordon, Carroll are about half the teams' salary.
They are doing fine given that.
It must turn around when the money pays for talent in the floor.

You can dismiss more salary than Jason Smith makes in any year of his deal, but I don't.
I'm joint pointing out how much salary is not going into efforts to produce wins.
I know why the deals were made and am not criticizing them. I'm pointing out the residual cost of them, all being paid this season.

Yeah, basically our roster payroll is only $46.6M. Now, with Gordon out, we're playing with an active team payroll of $32.9M. Last night, sans Brow, we had $27.7M in players available. That's less than half of the cap and way below the floor.

yeah, but you have to remember that SF Monty Williams never got into the game either, and he's at like $5 million, so really that was another couple of million demps is just blowing.
he should be fired, IMO

I still don't get why we got rid of Dyson. Is Mason better than him? Dyson was young, fast, almost explosive at times. I really liked him, plus he could guard the point. He made a good pair with Vasquez. I know he wants to get the heck out of Israel about right now..

Dyson's salary was needed to create a big enough exception, when combined with Miller, to take back Warrick and Lopez on a deal Lopez would sign.

I agree it's something to keep an eye on. But just a quick glance at the numbers it appears that 2nd half scoring is down across the league compared to 1st.
Could be any number of reasons. Tighter defense, blow outs, etc. But I'm not sure how much we can read into this other than the Hornets have been mediocre to bad on offense since 07/08.
