Have seen a few commercials over the last few days? I guess she is a bit worried, but I'm a little puzzled, why is the API paying for these commercials? I understand she has been pro-oil on the surface, but wouldn't any Republican Senator we send to Washington?

She's a known quantity, and if the Senate doesn't flip, it's good to have someone in the majority party on your side. Perhaps they don't see anyone who's a sure bet to beat her, and with that in mind, don't want to cross her when she's been friendly enough to them.

She's a higher ranking Dem in the majority. Why wouldn't they support her?
Right now, she's Louisiana's most powerful asset in Washington, and she's always been pro oil.

It's an industry for her, providing dumbasses with excuses to vote for her in spite of her cynically ineffective "conservative" positions, and her reliably liberal votes whenever needed to carry the day for democrats.

Or a 1-car. However, having said that, she only beat Woody Jenkins by less than 6,000, mainly dead people in New Orleans to take the seat initially - Woody Jenkins, think about that.
She's hit 52% the past 2 cycles, once outright. I felt that she would have had a tough time if she had to run in 2010, but she didn't.
Heck, I'm not sure Mary has ruled out running for President or Vice President.

Dude - I line up to vote against her, early and often. She has a very liberal (socially) voting record and positions. However, she has moderate credentials (she's generally good on oil and gas, as well as military issues) and is from the south - since the Dems are only going to run far-left people from the North - she could definitely balance out a ticket in 2016 - she will only be 61.
She is also a good fund raiser.

A lot of oil taxes will be affected in the current negotiations. They're giving her cover right now to suck up.

based upon the Fact all statewide state officials are Republican, the majority in the House and Senate. all but one Congressional seat (tha tone gerrymandered for a black), one senate seat, and Obama just got rolled in the state?
Yeah she is safe, not a chance she could have another close election.
