Why should a for-profit company have a different set of standards than a non-profit in regards to Obamacare?

LINK

This is the current list of companys exempt from Obamacare. These for-profit companys, many of which are union, have exemptions, why should Hoppy Lobby be different?

OK fine, show me a religion that disapproves of procreation and I'll concede

still gov't regulation that may interfere with a religion.

And while you're at it, show me one that tells you that you can't associate with blacks and Mexicans.

You can't just say that a reg "may" infringe on the religious freedoms of people who "may" practice some imaginary religion. That would apply to every single regulation and you'd have no government.

btw, if Hobby Lobby truly believes that their faith doesn't allow for them to provide contraception to people then they should def cut hours back. If not, they are hypocritical like a lot of religious people.

So their choices are abide by their faith or hurt their employees. I for one wouldn't judge them for either choice. But I'm not an a-hole.

Yup, blame your fearless leaders in Washington who are too fricking ignorant to weigh the consequences of legislation they ram through.

Like Pelosi said, guess we needed to pass it to see what was in it

EVERYONE with half a brain and an understanding of business saw what was coming

Cool, so there are tiers of religious beliefs???

I'm just calling a spade a spade... If you are gonna invoke religion then you should follow what your religion teaches to a T.

I think a better example to prove the other guys point would be that a religious employer who is against fornication and thus against unwed pregnancy, is still required by law to grant the same leave benefits as given to a married pregnant employee, even though it might be viewed by the employer as supporting unwed pregnancy.

Assigning blame is a lot different then enjoying people being underemployed or losing their jobs. But different strokes I guess.

That's exactly what you said when you voted for Obama and supported Obamacare; sadly, you probably missed that you were doing this.

It is really simple. You pay a Senator enough to get re-elected you get a waiver.

I find humor in the fact that all the progressives who claim to look out for the little guy and hate those evil corporations aren't screaming over this.

The little guy is going to get screwed and the power is held in DC and without millions to throw up there your company doesn't have a chance to get a waiver for this awesome piece of shite they are all smelling now.

FORWARD

Only if you're too mentally challenged to understand the discussion can you try to make this a differentiation when no one else brought it up.

The difference is, providing birth control costs money. Deciding who can/can't walk through the doors of a business is a little different.

I think this is the main difference, and for the record, I'm not a religious person.

The church (specifically the Catholic Church) has doctrine that explicitly condemns birth control. If you purchase birth control for yourself or for someone else you are in direct conflict with the doctrine of your church.

If you purchase benefits for your employees that fornicate, you are not causing them to fornicate.

It's not enough to say, "these people do/believe something I'm against, so I will/will not do this completely unrelated action". You have to show were the very act that the government is compelling you to do is in direct violation to your beliefs.

Federally mandated wage caps were put in place during WWII. To compete for workers, companies had to offer paid health care as a benefit. Once you offer something, of course, no one is going to be the first to take it away.

I'm not religious at all, but isn't the central tenant of christianity that you fail to live up to gods expectations?

I'm sure weakness when faced with the possibility of harming others falls within the not so bad side of the spectrum of sins.

Again, I no shite about christianity
