All I'm saying is that a company that profitable should be able to provide better healthcare I really don't get how that's bad unless you're a Walton

If their health plan is so offensive, why do you choose Walmart as the villain rather than our politicians who prefer making an individual's health the responsibility of a business rather than the responsibility of an individual? Would Walmart still be a villain if individuals had the same tax benefit as businesses? If that were the case (and Obamacare had not been passed), the total compensation a business pays a worker could be used by workers to pay for their own healthcare with any healthplan they can afford. Under the current system, all businesses are obligated to treat workers as clueless dolts who don't recognize that the "employer share" on their pay stubs actually represents would have otherwise been cash compensation which they could have used to pursue their own healthplans. With healthpans being mobile, there would be no such thing as pre-existing conditions. There would have been no need for Obamacare.

You are too easily influenced. Not trying to be paternal because I'm not old but how old are you?

Exactly. You apply the Walmart scale to any sort of unskilled business and you'll see the same results.

You are talking about a company that has engineered every piece of the supply chain for maximum performance. They, above anyone else, know exactly what they have to pay employees to attract viable candidates and maintain low turnover. If the job market for their employees required them to provide more to retain workers, they would.

Yeah, that's called capitalism. It's been the biggest boon the the standard of living of every nation that has tried it.

Are you referring to the stores that unnecessarily gouged poor people with overpriced merch simply because poor people had no other alternative? Why do you hate the poors, you elitist prick? How did you get to be so out of touch? You probably voted for Romney.

I'd really love to see the OP's reaction to factories in china if they think Walmart is horrid. Spoilers....I've been there many times and its a million times worse. I also worked at a place like Walmart as a kid.

And the "boon" will soon go "bust". Consumer-driven society which produces little will never work for long. And, I have nothing against Wal Mart in particular. I just hate seeing so many dumb people in one place, so I avoid that place like the herpes virus. People bitching about Wal Mart should just choose to shop elsewhere, end of story. But, Wal Mart is acting scared-getting a judge to prevent strikes on Friday.

Weird, there are small shops open all across the USA.
These people close their eyes to reality. Hatred of Walmart is rooted in hatred of Capitalism itself. The argument that Walmart is bad for business because it destroys competition is quite possible the stupidest argument ever conjured up by a human mind.

If it wasn't for greedy, self righteous politicians buying votes from the ignorant masses by legislating that the government knows better than the individual, your post would have been unnecessary. Employer provided healthcare is a shell game. It's your money because it's their labor cost for employing you. Why should they get to limit your choices ? Why should they be the ones to shop around? Don't you think you should be the one deciding what is in your best interest?
