| Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price (Posted on 11/19/12 at 10:12 pm)
Just watched this documentary about the worlds largest retailers. It blew my fricking mind. They seem to be pure evil. Anyone else seen this? Thoughts? Didn't know whether to put this here or M/TV board. Thought I'd get better discussion here.

It just seems like you formed your opinion based solely on a documentary that may have had an agenda.

Because you watched a "documentary" without understanding the obvious angle, took it as gospel, ran back here, and told us a business that seeks to make a profit is pure evil. It's so stupid it's funny.

Best argument in the world. If you don't like how they operate then don't buy from them. If you don't think they provide a good job then don't work for them. If these arguments aren't good enough for you then you have no business partaking in a capitalist economy.

Well, it's a highly biased film with a purpose to make Walmart look as bad as possible. I guess it got you excited. These arguments have been around forever. Some merit to them, but for the most part there is nothing evil about Walmart, it's business.

Sure. They have much less turnover than any other major retailer in America because the benefits they provide. Consumers getting a much better deal, higher quality, more selection, and confidence that they can return defective products with little hassle.

I haven't seen it but I approach anything called a documentary these days with caution.

Customers want low prices? Supply chain management? Proof of concept? Scoreboard? Help us out with signaling where to take this dialogue. You gotta elaborate. Please stop conversing like a girl, man up and post a specific point we can chomp on.
