Does anyone have a link to this other than the bible? Perhaps something where it is explained. I am not religious, but would like to read about it.

Geez...damn near 30k posts...and that's where you are? I need to split this scene! Hey buddy...enjoy Thanksgiving and the Holidays. Eat, drink and love your group. You're going to die...and since it will be forever if there aint no god or religion...what's 40 years or so of trying to find a job and hold on to your money in the Obama nation. Probably won't be able to afford season tickets to the Tigers...Obama will spread that shite around ya know. Social justice. And if they light it up with the prophetic big one, enjoy the show and be thankful that you lived in an interesting and challenging time. And pray to Jesus and live forever if religion is true...and die like a warrior if it aint. Hell...what's 71/2 years of an ass-kicking if you're living for eternity...or cease to be for eternity. It'a a win-win either way. Happy Thanksgiving!

If you want to understand why some religious peeps are saying this, wouldn't the best place to start that venture be the source? You don't have to believe it to read it. As to the OP, no, the current conflict in the middle east has nothing to do with Biblical prophecy. At the beginning of the book of Revelation, John said foresaw what "would happen soon." He wrote this to a specific group of early Christians as a comfort in the days of persecution that would soon follow. Everything in the book has already come to pass.

I was raised a baptist, so I am familiar enough with it to know that I need footnotes of some sort to really delve into everything.

Not true at all, imo. Footnotes are just other people's opinions on the text. The only appropriate ones are ones that outline what the original language said and why it was altered (slightly) in the translation.

No can do, Pro. If you're not one of the 'elect'...then you don't have the "ears that hear and eyes that see" to recognize the creature anyway. You'll just take the 'number', and fall in the 'gubmint' line. This might help...while you're waitin!LINK

So, you're admitting to starting a thread to troll Christians? Did you not get enough hugs from mommy or did daddy touch in your private places? If you don't believe in something what is so empty in your life that need to fill it with the false sense of accomplishment through mockery?

Revelation is only one of many books in the bible that talks about Israel's future. Daniel, Ezekiel, Zephaniah, the Gospels and many more are filled with end time prophecies concerning Israel.

A quick google search reveals how many countless predictions of the end of the world have been made since the beggining of recorded history, and all of them thiught they had plenty of evidence for their claims. Every generation thinks it's the end of the world.

I don't know about all of those predictions but I know that for a very small country that should not be very significant, Israel is very significant and the Jewish people have been hated and persecuted since the beginning. When the end does come, Israel will play a prominent role.

You mad? Just because I don't believe it doesn't mean I don't have the right to ask. The middle east is a powder keg at the moment.
