Most teams average 60-70 plays a game. 49ers are run heavy, Alex smith averaged 28 attempts a game last year. Davis has 29 receptions and 41 targets through 9 games this season, meaning he averages 3 catches and a little over 4 or targets a game. Considering TE's arent in on every passing play lets go with 20 passing plays he is on the field for, some of which he will be guarded by a linebacker, and others our DBs will be in zone, or Harper will be on him, so i will put the number of times Jenkins has him in man to man between 5-9.
Add in the possibility of Smith staying on the injury list and Kaepernick getting the start and that number will probably drop, seeing as SPags likes to play zone and heavy blitz rookie QBs, plus with Smith out the 49ers like to put more on the shoulders of Gore.
