| Tsunami short review (Posted on 11/19/12 at 9:45 am)
Went to Tsunami on Friday night. While it is a bit hipster, it is worth going. The view is really nice, with the bridge lit up. And with the TS lights on, it was a bonus. The sushi was good. Not fantastic, but good. The rolls were fun and innovative. I especially liked the Biggus (Panko oyster roll). My girl's cedar plank salmon was very good. But be aware that the cedar taste is very prominent. Might be too much for some people. I will definitely go again when it is warmer and sit outside and sip martinis. (nothing else to review this weekend. Ate Jambalya outside TS and dinner at Chimes on Sat. night).

I like the Michael Doumit roll (fried softshell crab roll) at Tsunami.. and for a location and view to have drinks.. Tsunami BR is pretty cool.

Tsunami makes a living off the atmosphere alone. The food isn't that good when compared to some of the other places.

I think they have good food, nothing great but the problem is it is very overpriced.

Tsunami is one of my favorite places downtown to eat at lunch. No crowd. Quiet. Good view to decompress. Cheap bento box lunch. Food is nothing spectacular, but not bad either.

Im not saying its terrible, just that there are better places to get sushi. Hence the "when compared to some other places". Just about any decent restaurant would thrive in that location.

You haven't lived until you've seen Port Allen at night.

Ah ha... Ha... You can see more than just port Allen smart ass. The simple fact is that nowhere else in baton rouge has a restaurant with the same view. Looking over the river and such is cool to some people. Doubt Anybody thinks "man, I'm really craving tsunami's!".
