| Ok, Chris Matthews and Consevatives agree and are beating up Mitt (Posted on 11/16/12 at 6:47 pm)
What exactly did he say that was so out of touch? I read part of what he said, and I can't argue it's untrue. Can you? Obama did promise young people a lot of "benefits" or "help" during his re-election campaign and he pushed Obamacare as the "solution" to rising Medicare costs when we all know it isn't. Democrats do make promises (aka gifts) and in return they get votes. Let's call a duck and duck. Obama "being in touch" means we get Obamacare for ever and ever. A tax that will never go away and another social program we can't afford and will always be underfunded and under serviced. That's the stinking truth! I am sick of the political correctness that is bankrupting the country. Conservative politicians are falling all over themselves "We're sorry, we get it now" why not just be a Democrat? This is getting ugly. If you have to be a Democrat to get elected President in the 21st century, then by golly be a genuine one.

Republicans are really piling on Romney. Michael Steele did some Romney bashing on the Tom Joyner Morning Show today.

This was the main topic on the John gibson show today. It's all optical in my opinion. To look like there will be a major shift in ideology to reach the 100%. pandering to the 47%. Anyone who ran on the Republican platform would have lost because it doesn't allow them to play Santa clause....to quote Gibby.

Exactly Last time I checked 45% of the people didn't vote Obama only won by 3 million votes out of 110 million cast. I think the country is pretty divided politically. No need to panic.... fundamentals are fundamentals... Trust in what you believe. Just lay off the abortion and immigration issues a bit and get to work being a conservative.

The D's are becoming more and more authoritarian. The R's need to be small government conservatives across the board including social issues and civil liberties.

If I were Romney, I would take my ball and go home. I mean, screw it. He has the brains, the aptitude, a sucessful history, contacts, a supporting loving family, and all manner of business acumen to go ahead with his life and make another bazillion dollars. He is not going to run for office again. Hell, just make another dump truck load of cash and occasionally say I told you so.

Michael Steele was not a good answer to head the GOP, but now when he says something bad against the party he must be cool in your mind.

Not good says who? It wasn't the Left who forced Michael Steele to step down. The Left just thought the spectacle of a fairly Moderate Republican be the spokesperson for these new far Right Religious loons & Neo- Cons was entertaining. His stance that Afghanistan was 'unwinnable' & his wavering on the abortion issue(Steele isn't a hardcore anti Abortionist). Despite trying to fight back the 'crazies'(as Chris Christie called them) in the GOP Steele presided over the take over of 63 seats the GOP. Jindal & other Republicans are now trying to fight back the crazies(just as Steele was attempting when he was head) when they see that it is losing the demographic battle with women & minorities.

Michael Steele isn't the only Republican minority or woman piling on. What about Bobby Jindal, Mark Rubio, Ana Navarro, Susana Martinez, Kelly Ayotte and a host of others? I thought Tom Joyner asked a good question: If the GOP won't listen to Blacks like Steele, Colin Powell and JC Watts, which Blacks will they listen too?

I don't mean to flame, but this isn't a great argument. Obama won re-election with 7.9% unemployment and a dismal economic outlook. Even FDR had better numbers to work with. Bush won re-election by 3 million votes despite strong economic growth, strong unemployment numbers, advances in home-ownership, a strong position in regards to the war on terror, positive sentiment on his prosecution of the war on terror / Iraq / Afghanistan, etc... Anyone can argue semantics and statistics all day, every day. It's just striking to me that Bush and Obama each won by 3 million voters, despite the vast gap between them in regards to economic progress. It's all cyclical, regardless. In four years, people will be sick of liberal democrats; they'll elect a conservative; the conservative will undo a lot of the democratic policies that are ineffective; after two terms, people will be sick of conservative republicans; they'll elect a liberal; the liberal will undo a lot of republican policies that are ineffective... etc, etc... Every Republican who is freaking out about Obama should take a deep breath. The GOP isn't going away, it'll just make a few policy tweaks and come back stronger in 2016 with a more charismatic candidate.

What's wrong with that ? A prominent Black Republican being loyal to the end to the GOP(which rejected his moderation) by reaching out to an approximately 7 or 8 million strong Black audience? Steele's trying to show hopefully a new more moderate side the the GOP which unless people like you are aginst making any efforts at inroads. The GOP Michael Steele was years ahead of Jindal when it came to moderation & his insistence that the GOP tone down the ANTI 'them' rhetoric. The GOP was a fine Party until it was hijacked by the Southern Strategy & the Religious Right.

What choice does he have? I agree with you 100%. He has to walk a way scratching his head and thinking how stupid this country is! Imagine having the option of having Mitt Romney or Barack Obama manage your finances for the rest of your life. Who would you choose? People can say the election was about the economy...we all know better than that.
