Comp tac They are quite popular, especially with the glock crowd. My current one doesn't carry well which is why I don't carry it much

I think comfort is a huge roll in how much I will actually carry. Thats why I had interest in the smaller guns at first but Im seeing now you can carry a 9 pretty easily.

Yep. Comfort is why I carry my 642 all the time. Can't tell it's there. Hopefully this comp tac with a new belt will have me carrying a bigger gun more often.

Well I decided on the LC 9. Was an easy decision once I made a few stops and help a bunch of guns. Really like the size at less than an ince wide and 17 oz's and how it feels in my hands. Will be adding a crimson trace.

Not a bad choice... A few things I would master with this weapon: 1. Decide whether you want to carry it with the safety on or off. I would carry it without the safety on, but if anyone wants to carry it with the safety activated, they should include that in their training (draw + turn off safety). 2. I think this model has a magazine disconnect safety. I would try to remove it if it can be removed. I know the SR9c I have had a mag disconnect safety that I removed, but I doubt this one is built just like it. But if you're comfortable with the gun not firing without a magazine in it, that's your prerogative. 3. Dry fire, dry fire, dry fire. This trigger is LONG and HEAVY. The trigger pull on my Kahr is long and smooth, but it takes a while to be able to master accurate shots with that trigger. Practice makes perfect. Be sure to get that trigger pull down while focusing on that front sight. Just a couple suggestions... Take em or leave em... Enjoy your new piece and carry daily!

I bought with a safety so I could use it. I am already practicing it and take it off everytime I pick it up so it will be second nature. If I need it, there will be no time to think. I just feel better with one while its loaded.

It does. I am dont see why you would want to discharge it without the magazine in though. Not real fimailiar with this feature.

I am. They all seem to be long in this range but it is very smooth.

Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I am ready to buy my next piece already. I love it.

The only real benefit a magazine safety has is if you are in law enforcement and it is your duty weapon. Envision this scenario: You're about to ticket someone who is just a bit too pissed off that day. He hits you and you have no time to grab your weapon before he is on you. He goes for your duty weapon. What can you do to disable it? Drop the magazine out. -This was actually the original reason it was invented. But if you're carrying concealed the person doesn't know you are armed and the chances of you getting into a melee battle for your weapon is greatly diminished. If you accidentally pop out the magazine, why would you want your gun disabled? Me personally, I would rather be able to put at least one round in the guy to get him away from me. But hey, different strokes for different folks. You already have a huge leg-up over 95% of the rest of the population that doesn't carry. Good for you getting a CHL! EDIT: Another reason it's on this particular handgun is to make the gun socialist-state legal. This is one of few handguns on the approved list for CA, CT, etc. If it has the word "safety" in the title, all the nut cases think, "hey, that sounds like it'll make it 'safer'" and so the terrible logic continues.

Makes sense. I will have to see about getting it removed/disabled. Can you recommend a good holster. I got a good pocket but the one I got for inside the waist isn't all that. I am 6' 195 and a 32" waist so not very big and the one I have shows pretty good. I have a month until my class so I'm in no hurry though.

When I leave the house my checklist is gun, keys, wallet, phone. With a good holster it's not really that of a deal.

Brands for you to check out: DeSantis Crossbreed Bladetech Blackhawk Comptac Fobus Bianchi I'm probably forgetting a few others but those are some big brands. Many of them will have kydex and leather IWB holsters that will be plenty comfortable. Lucky for you the LC9 is very thin and just about any holster will do.

Ive only concealed a handful of times. I have pistols in all of my vehicles so if I choose, I can conceal, but I never do.

I CC'ed everyday in Oklahoma, no reason not too. Just got my La license in yesterday so I'm about to start it up again. Colder weather Kimber Ultra Carry in a Galco IWB (by far my favorite) warm weather S&W Ultralight in ankle holster or S&W Defender in pocket holster

Mine is gun, keys, wallet, phone, employee badge (can't get past the guards without badge in my bldg, but gun has to stay in the car while I'm at work or I'll get fired).

In Oklahoma, Employers cannot prohibit an employee from having a gun in the employee's personal vehicle, even when vehicle is parked in employer's parking lot. That law was passed a year or two ago.

La is the same as long as the parking lot is not inside a fence with a lockable gate, ie plant parking lots

Here is the dumb thing, we can park in another lot outside the gates and have a gun, but bullets aren't allowed
