No. Just keep up the usual TD Right Wing circle jerk, but be careful with carpal tunnel.

Wonderful. Thanks for that solid contribution from the Left side of the aisle.

Economics. Even their premier economist, Paul Krugman, wrote yesterday that we should not raise the SS age limit because people are misguided about the problem of 'longevity.' He explains that people are only expected to live longer FROM BIRTH today compared to 50 years ago. But SS isn't from birth. It's how long you're expected to live FROM 65. And that hasn't changed.
I'd absolutely agree. Ostensibly, Democrats / Liberals should be far more favorable to business, economically, then the Tea Party / Libertarian crowd. You would think people willing to wield the power of government would be willing to do so for the benefit of business and economic growth... sadly not the case. *ETA - I didn't realize I was the only "liberal" -- I'm not THAT liberal, BTW - who even bothered to respond to this. Liberals look the other way on many abuses performed by unions. Sadly, both sides do this - conservatives often overlook abuses performed by religious organizations, businesses, investors, etc... - but I would absolutely say that unions are the liberals sacred cow, never to be assailed.

Not trying to bait. Want a meaningful discussion with my counterparts from the left. My posting history bears this out.

Actually, yes. But such is life. Those on the hard right on this board (and there are many) can be just as unwilling to talk.

Maybe if you would define or articulate your question a bit more specifically . . . policy? political operations? solutions?

Or if he were willing to offer his own criticism of the right/conservatives like he expects others to do of their side of the aisle.

HUH? the life expectancy has increased dramatically. You can start the clock wherever you want (birth to 65). That doesn't change the average or the endpoint....and when SS started the average life expectancy/endpoint was 65. everyone else beyond this was on Extended Play.
This was my understanding. But then I don't have a Nobel Prize in Econ like Krugman does.

My apologies, but I made it clear in my original post that this was your thread to discuss any particular matters you felt the Left could improve upon. I deliberately left the discussion to those who wanted to respond. However, I will address an area that my Conservative brethren routinely ignore (to their detriment), poverty and urban blight. They have simply (in my opinion) ceded this issue to their counterparts on the Left. Since your political persuasion owns this issue, how well are you doing? Any thoughts? Respectfully submitted, Wolfhound 45

Manage debt. Balance budgets. Progressives need a legitimate conservative opposition party to keep us honest. Unfortunately, that GOP spends just as much as the Democrats, but on the military and on tax cuts for the wealthy.

One thing democrats, more specifically the more liberal part of the party, has done very poorly is ignoring the good while seeking the perfect. Lots of liberal policies could have been passed if not for the left flank of the party attacking them for not being liberal enough. In the last few years, especially with the emergence of Obama this notion to attack from the left has been a bit tempered. recently the republicans have begun to fall into this trap.
