No, but I pay for all my benefits. Staying off my leg longer probably is the reason why I rehabbed better than most and have zero issues with my knee over the last 6 years.

Had mine done in July. Hamstring. The posters were right. Two weeks of miserable pain. Getting up and feeling thay blood rush into the calf and knee is painful. I had bad swelling and I had to do everything I could to get that down. Would highly recommend a cryocast for icing. Very effective and not a lot to ask for convenience and comfort. Do all your PT and go regularly. Do everything the PTist says. I am on a very fast pace track to recovery. Oh and the pain meds do help but be very careful. Ive never been constipated but those oxycodones messed me up. Didn't shite for 7 days. Used a suppository it was so bad. Thought I was giving birth via my rectum.

did you use a cpm machine? That shite hurt but I swear it helped a ton in faster recovery. I got the patellar graph and and everything went well but now my knee is noisy as hell - all kinds off popping and cracking in the front of my knee no pain though

Had two done on my right knee 6 an 7 years ago and my left done 3 years ago. My right knee hurts every day. The dr said they will never be back to 100% unless your an athlete and train everyday (which I'm not). So good luck and enjoy the Bj's.

I had a patella graft for my 1st one, the pain was pretty bad for a few months. 2nd surgery was a cadaver and I was mostly pain free after a few days ETA: both on left knee

My experience too, cryocast was a life saver.

I had the cadaver graft. It didn't really hurt by the time I start physical therapy. Other than the typical burn from working out hard. Definitely keep icing it regularly.

I got to where the pain killers really did not do anything. Finally went to Super One and bought seven fifths of Boone's Farm (you pick the flavor). Chilled them down. After everyone went to bed, took my pain pill and sat up watching TV while finishing off a fifth. Sounds gross, but it works. Oddly, a few months later, a female friend of mine had hip surgery. We were comparing notes, and she finally admitted that it was the only thing that worked for her as well.

Biggest thing is to hit the PT 3x per week for a minimum of 6 weeks. Most dumbasses only go 3x and stop and have problems the rest of their life. 3 months out they will say they are 100%, even though going down stairs is impossible for them..

Just work your arse off in PT. Dont let any scar tissue build up in it cause that hurts like hell too.
