Tonight I was at the Loft in Perkins Row, and they have two for one signature drinks. I was with my fiancée and my dad, and we had two drinks each. When we got our check, there was an auto grat of 40%. After raising a big stink, we got the auto tip taken off, then tipped zero. The waitress didn't apologize when she brought us the new bill, which tells me she was just hoping we wouldn't notice the extra charge. Dumb bitch.

Serving industries are pretty much forced to auto-grat these days bc nobodies tips anymore.
Sucks, but they have learned from the clientele that it is the only way to make any money in the industry.

When we complained, the waitress disappeared with the original. Then when she came back with the new one after we talked with her manager she don't apologize. So can't provide pic. But I assure you it happened. This would be a really dumb made up story for the OT.

Absolutely agree, and I also disagree that the majority do not tip. MAtter of factly servers at a decent restaurant in any large city get overpaid. Worked at several restaurants cooking or dish bitch in high school. Make minimum wage an actually bust your ass.

Went to The Loft downtown with a buddy one night after Live After Five. We were dressed in jeans, polo/buttondown and LSU ball caps.
The girl at the door looked at us funny, kind of stammered something about a dress code and shuffled us off to a seat in the corner with Clayton, Mohammed, and Jugdish. Haven't been back since.

stupid bitch did that to me at sonic through the DRIVE THROUGH asked do you want any change? Yes & it was a 20.00 damn canadians. I dont mind tipping the car hop but the freaking drive through....

I have several server friends and they make more fricking money than I do at 32k/yr. People are still tipping.
And gratuity should NOT be 40% under any circumstance. The typical gratuity is 18%.
