Not a Crown fan, personally. I'll drink it if someone else is offering, but I wouldn't buy it.

My roommate bought the single barrel Jack and I tried a glass, but its oak taste was a little too extreme. I bought a bottle of eagle rare single barrel, poured it over ice, and definitely preferred it over JD single barrel. But I enjoy the taste of Maker's and coke moreso than either

I'll admit cask is better. It's like it is trying to be a whiskey. Still think it is for people who want a mix drink flavor while still wanting to order something on the rocks.

That was me. I haven't had the chance yet. I did have some Aberlour scotch tonight that was excellent, but that wasn't on my dollar. I'm waiting to try some of these different whiskeys for when I have a job. I'm hoping to pick up a part time this spring, but we'll have to see how classes turn out.

Has anyone else tried Eagle Rare single barrel? It's not incredibly expensive by any means, but I feel like it's pretty decent whiskey. Maker's 64 and Blanton's single barrel are up next on my to try list

Fwiw, I think whiskey and coke is the laziest drink possible and is the equivalent of adding grape juice to wine. Only about 5 mix drinks I will go for or else I am scotch/whiskey straight up.
