UT isn't as attractive as it once was. No recruiting base, ugly campus, mediocre team in the future, nice facilities and okay women. As a coach who would want that? Gruden? l.o.l. Charlie Strong? Lateral move @ this time in history. UT will settle for someone that we haven't heard of like they did with Dooley.

We weren't in the SEC at the time so I lacked perspective when it happened, but I still don't get why UT settled for Dooley. He seemed like a failure before he began.

Why didn't they just go the Arky/OSU route and hire a temp coach?
Seems better to waste one season rather than three seasons.

His name is mentioned prominently at UK. I don't think UT is that interested in him, although I agree, would be a a good hire.

As an Alabama fan, I'm cheering for Tennessee to get back on track (I might be the only one). The SEC needs Tennessee to be good. And if you think Tennessee isn't still a great program, you're fooling yourself

no they dont. SEC fans want tenn to be good so bama doesnt always get a cake walk SEC east sched. UTk figuratively passed the torch to LSU in the 2001 SEC champ game, USCe has risen to a much better program. UTk just isnt the job it once was
