| Free Pittbull to a good home (Posted on 11/16/12 at 11:43 pm)
*** Please save your rants about Pitbulls to another thread *** Anyway, found a stray male pittbull the neighborhood(Baton Rouge). He was friendly and came up to us to be petted and also followed us when called. We gave it some dog food since it looked like it was starving. Currently our neighbors are looking after the dog. We aren't sure if he's house trained or if he gets along with other animals/children. The neighbors probably can only keep the dog for the weekend. We are just looking to see if anyone would be interested in taking him before we make other arrangements (pound or similar). Anyway picture below, email me at blueshortguy@gmail.com to get some contact information from me if you are interested. I'm located in the Garden District over the weekend and will be pretty much available at all times.

Enjoy your new friend and I hope you don't have any children (just in case). He'll probably make an awesome pet

Have an american bulldog, guess he's mixed with pit though which we were lied to about when we bought him. Sweetest most emotional needy fricking dog i've ever met. He's an absolute tank, and he's a total vajay. Always thought they'd be rough tough mean guy dogs. Big baby though. Awesome awesome dog though.

Have you taken him to the vet? If not, do that ASAP. Nobody wants a dog which hasn't been checked out.

I know that a lot of cats that are white with blue eyes have vision problems (they're usually blind). I'm not sure if that happens to white dogs with blue eyes or not. Anybody know?

I don't think blue eyes are common in Pit bulls and could be a sign of vision problems. No reason to put one down though.

Definitely not in the "put it down" camp here. Was just thinking if that had anything to do with it not being with whoever had it until this point.

Just found him not 30 mins ago. Plus, I have 120k debt plus some... probably not going to take him to vet. As much as I would like for him to find a home (with someone who can afford to take care of another pet)... if I don't he'll most likely go to the animal shelter and be put down, which I would preferr as opposed to him starving to death on the street.

I'm sure you could find a "no-kill" shelter somewhere.

Bad idea.

Call the folks in New Orleans that run the pit bull rescue that's on TV. Maybe they can come get it or at least direct you to a purebred rescue group.
