Off topic but worth sharing. I helped run one of Bobbys satelite campaign offices last summer. I was making campaign calls and this much older lady told me "Bobby?! I am not voting for that crook! You let me know when Edwin Edwards runs again, now that is a man I WILL vote for!" Keep in mid this was a month or two after Edwin got out of jail.
Gotta Love La. politics. I remember when I was in La. and it was Edwards against David Duke. Saw Duke speak at the LSU student union surrounded by black and white students. Good restraint shown on that day. As a side note, Chris Christie said that Romney was "raw" over the loss. Christie on Romney

As much as I detest EWE & all the damages he caused the state, I will give him credit where credit is due: he was never afraid to meet the local & national press head on, subject matter unlimited. Bobby may well be a genius but the state gets nothing from him as a consequence but well thought out ahead of time press releases expousing his political dogma as it relates to the nation of Republicans. Why is he so afraid of the local media???

He seemed to get 100% of Louisiana a surplus. Oh wait, having money is wrong.

He's a billion dollars in the hole, this year and starting out next year. He's used one-time money repeatedly to plug holes in the budget. Surplus my ass.

So he is saying don't concede a single vote and fight to give every American the OPPORTUNITY to be successful. There is something wrong with this message?

Because much of the prominent local media (WBRZ and the Advocate, Baton Rouge's #1 local tv station and #1 newspaper) are owned by the Manship family, and the Manships hate Bobby's guts.

And second, we need to continue to show that our policies help every voter out there achieve the American dream, which is to be in the middle class, which is to be able to give their children the opportunity to get a great education, which is for their children to have even better-paying jobs than their parents.
He's right about that. The R's do a horrible job of selling their wares.

I all ways thought the American dream was bigger than just being in the middle class. I thought we as Americans were supposed to aspire higher.
This has bothered me for months since Obama said "i stand with those in the middle class, and those striving to be in the middle class." Sorry, but people work to be in the middle class, and strive to be rich. That is the American dream. Who the frick says "i wanna be average when I grow up!"

It is disappointing to hear Jindal speak against what is a truth that was spoken by Romney. Jindal was given the chairmanship position of the RGA and is now eager to please the inside-the-beltway GOP/Democratic apparatus by towing their "official" talking points. He has stars in his eyes and the praise by the machine is apparently irresistible to him. Moving to the "middle" is not going to increase anyone into the Republican fold. The polarization is too wide. There is no democrat voter going to move over to the Republicans even if they throw out a few token liberal-esque policies. Why would a Democrat change tables to eat a half-baked Republican pie when the Democratic one is fully baked with cherries on top? The only way to increase the Republican fold is to move farther right - but that is not the true goal of the machine.

Jindal just recognizes the world as it is, not as you want it to be. It's a pussified, PC, self interest driven world and loaded with drama queens who love to exploit it. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. Politics is all about PR, and you have to win the PR war.

You may have a few points in there. (And man those city-fied "metrosexuals" are really disturbing). As far as the "PR" thing, yes they say to win over people its better to use a candle instead of a flamethrower - but me being a Texan I opt for the flamethrower everytime..

The world has changed, man. People fear straight talk. They don't want the truth, they want the pie in the sky.

I agree with Jindal on this. The GOP is looking more and more like Archie Bunker - an angry older white guy whose best days are behind him. But, at least Archie was funny....

Pretty much the pop image those who watch MSNBC exclusively would have you believe. It's about as true as all Dems are underachievers.

And the number form November 6 would prove this. I'm not naive enough to think that Fox News for the GOP or MSNBC win or lose an election based solely on what they say.

They don't but people who watch them exclusively usually have ridiculously silly images of the other side.
