This is the fundamental problem with government spending in general; there's no accountability because you are spending other people's money. Meanwhile there are likely hundreds of stories aka Benghazi where additional expenditures to improve security are more than justified.

Same, same. Good friend of mine from my college ROTC program did the same (lieutenant colonel at the time of the crime). At the correctional facility at Camp Lejeune last I heard.
Wife and two kids. Shame.

About Michael Jackson, well he has some great music and I say that as a deaf man who has a cochlear implant but I'm not totally convinced he's innocent.

I will just say I have a client that is a military contractor (not a corporate contractor, an individual) that went over there to build some stuff for the military for a few years and got gov contracts and did fine for himself.

Here's the biggest problem:
Each department/command is given a budget for each fiscal year, if they don't spend ALL of that budget, whether they need it or not, the next time a budget is set, it is lower than before.
So they keep spending even of they don't need it to keep getting bigger and bigger budgets.

But no, it's worse. There are Soldiers all over Afghanistan doing without stuff. All over, there are Soldiers with shitty conditions that could be upgraded. But they wont be upgraded because top dogs are too busy thinking up shite they want to spend money on that makes THEIR area more awesome.
Dude, if I could itemize the shite that is being spend on that has ZERO to do with the war effort and ZERO to do with making Joe's life better, you'd barf.
