Important consideration.

IMO, the land that is now Israel belongs to the Israelis now and they have every right and should be expected to kick the shite out of anyone that threatens them.

Surrounded by a billion people that want to murder you is not my idea of retirement.

This is a proxy war with Iran. When will the actual war start? Egypt will back Iran and Hamas.

Who will the U. S. back?

the current regime will not back Israel except in the media world, they're on their own. When its time to go, its time to go, however, even in america. Its not like the ruskies can't travel to the US anyways, if the hate is strong enough.

EDIT: By the way, Israel started the Six Day War, not the Arabs. Get your facts right.
The fact is you are wrong. The war was started on May 23, 1967 when Egypt put a blockade into effect on the Straits of Tiran. Israel did not retaliate to that act of war until June 5, 1967.

I do not understand WTF Hamas thought the end result would be if they kept sending rocket attacks at the Israeli population last week.

They thought that things would be the same way they have been for decades. Hamas fires rockets, Israel retaliates, the world blows a gasket and tells Israel to stop using disproportionate force in their response, rinse, and repeat.

Hamas is supported by the Assad Gov't in Syria & Iran. Assad & Iran believe if they can start a conflict between Hamas and Israel then the pressure will be off of Assad because their hope is that it will take pressure off of their civil revolution and the focus will be back on a religious war against the Jews/Christians.

The problem though is that Turkey, Jordan, and Israel and Egypt want these militants dealt with so their can be some sort of peace in the region. Egypt hates the militants from Gaza and have had numerous fire fights in the past couple of months with the militants attacking Egypt's troops and vice versa. Egypt isn't going to get involved with Israel because Egypt knows it would suffer major economic turmoil as Egypt is one of the prime tourist destinations for Israelis.

Hamas is going to get

re: Israel - Hamas

quote:

The leader of Israel made zero mention of Greater Israel to his audience. A rather glaring omission if realization of Greater Israel is the primary goal of his government to a supportive audience.

They aren't going to talk about Greater Israel in public. Come one man, Bibi isn't that stupid, but he has stated his intentions in private when he didn't think he was being recorded. For him to say this at an AIPAC conference would be like gun control advocates publicly admitting that their goal is to repeal the 2nd Amendment. According to Peter Bienart, Bibi and other Likudniks believe that they've already shown plenty of generosity by not claiming Jordan as part of Israel, and that everything west of the Jordan River is a permanent part of Israel that they will keep forever, and that's exactly what's stated in the Likud charter.

quote:

And just what exactly is Greater Israel? Is it Israel one square centimeter larger than 1967? Without you defining Greater Israel how can anyone conclude whether or not the dream of realizing Greater Israel is reasonable?

Man you really need to brush up on your Mideast history and terminology. Greater Israel is all the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterraen Sea, at least according to the "moderate" Zionists. Harliners believe it's everything between the Nile and the Euphrates.

The Jews also lived in the area for thousands of years.

There's a difference between Semitic Jews, a.k.a. Hebrews, and European Jewish refugees from WWII.

Really? When did the Jews attack the Arab nations in 1967?

Read a history book. There's no disputing the fact that Israel fired the first shot of the Six Day War, that's incontrovertible.

Egypt blocked the Strait. Israel relatiated against by attacking not only Egypt, but also Jordan and Syria. Who was responsible for drawing the U.S. into WWII? Was it our fault for cutting off Japanese oil or their fault for attacking Pearl Harbor?

Wow, look who is relying on interantional law today!

The piece of shite that rejects it and claims israel was in the right to attack a neutral US boat in international waters if it was in their interest. What a piece of shite hypocrite.

Do you really agree that Israel was justified to attack the USS Liberty, knowing it was a US ship in international waters becasue it was in their national interst. Do you agree that international law applies only when it is in the interest of israel?

Good frick Hamas. Them including The Muslim Brotherhood are wolfs in sheeps clothing. Making us believe that they want "real" freedome, what they want is the freedome to oppress women and other religions not theirs. But the Unicorns and Rainbows want to us to believe that these religious fascists are being oppressed. They're using our own media against us to win our hearts and minds. Just like the Viet Cong.

I have repeatedly said international law means nothing when a country determines it is in the country's interest to ignore international law because there is no enforcement mechanism. That doesn't mean I do not recognize some customs and standards of behavior. And for maybe the 20th time I never said Israel was in the right for attacking the USS Liberty. I said Israel had the right to determine if it was in her national interest to attack the USS Liberty, but Israel would have to accept the consequences of that decision.

The United States could have treated the attack on the USS Liberty as a declaration of war by Israel under the same international laws that justified Israels attack on Egypt. For whatever reasons the United States did not respond to the attack on the USS Liberty by declaring war on Israel, and you refuse to accept that decision, whereas I can live with it.

Your insistence that Israel be punished for that incident has become so all-consuming that you can't hide your hatred for all things Jewish. You try and hide your hatred by couching it as anti-Zionism but you let your mask slip too often to sell that pretense. I'm sure you, David Duke and Adolph Hitler could have a deeply satisfying conversation about the perfidy of the Jews.

Now that you've acknowledged the Arabs violated international law in 1967, what does international law allow as punishment for those who start wars and lose? Loss of territory is one of the consequences, and those pesky Jews just happened to occupy some of the territory of the Arabs. That means the Israelis have the right to occupy Arab territory until they reach a peace agreement with the Arabs. The occupation itself is legal, some of the acts perpetrated in the administration of the occupation are violations of international law. Israel obviously is willing to risk the consequences. When are the Arabs going to accept that Israel has no obligation under international law to vacate the Occupied Territories?
