He oughta do like Travis Tritt, after his 3rd divorce: "Next time, I'm just gonna find a woman I don't like and buy her a house."

So because you are obviously looking to buy a cheap car... I say a used Volvo. Those Swedes sure do know how to put a tank on 4 wheels.

If he's talking about a chipped diesel 2011 or up F250 it is in the realm of possibility. Getting those heavy-ass trucks to hook up and run 13's is a boogerbear. The Vette would have to be C5 or older and not a z06, plus have a crappy driver. So it's possible. Kinda like me having sex with Jennifer Anniston-possible.

Doubt it all you want, but it is true. I am putting down ~600hp and 1200lb-ft of torque to the wheels. 4wd launches and a very good driver can get it around 12.5s. By around I mean + or - a tenth or two. The high 12s low 13s was with the 3rd from highest tune. Oh yeah, I spent $900 on the mods to get it to where it is today so in your little drop-top Miataquote:

Vettes are very hard to hook up correctly off of the line. 4wd boosted launch...not so much. Not saying I can always beat one, but the fact that I can makes my testis 4lbs heavier

I still don't know much about those cars. Have sat in one, and didn't comfortably fit(5'11-185). Didn't have room to move my feet around under the dash either. The back seat looked like one in a Porsche

Dyno? 12.5s on street tires?

Ehhh...I don't know that I agree w/ that, esp. the new ones.

On the right dyno with a good operator, yes. Stock puts down 250-280, and the 350 is added at the wheels. Yes, on 35s

You can put a fricking rocket launcher on the F250 and you wont sniff a stock Corvette. Sorry

So you are telling me that for $900 you added 300 RWHP?

You can get 3/4 ton diesels in the high 11's with not a whole lotta works. Compound turbos, duel fuel pumps, big injectors, and a tune will make them into monsters.

Maybe you should research before you make statements about rocket launchersquote:

Seems like Vetteguy knows a little more than you. Breakdown of my mods: Programmer/Exhaust $650 Intake $250

I have it on 275 right now. Can go up to 350rwhp Honestly, you hit a limit on power unless you want to start spending a lot of money after that. To go up to 750rwhp would probably cost me $7500 on top of the $900. The programmer/exhaust was used btw

That's a bit more than $900. And you still better have some skillz on the wheel. Once the air gets up under the front end, they are a bit of a handful. I agree w/ what you are saying, but that thing will need trans work, too. After a few runs.

The stock tranny can handle up to 650hp. Too many runs at that level will need a few modsquote:

My front end weighs probably 4500lbs. I hear ya on the driving skills though. No way would I expect to go out and beat one every time

Oh yea I know. All the other stuff I listed was to make it a smoke belching 10 second monster and is definitely not cheap. To get one to 12.5 with a programmer and intake/exhaust is believable for sure though. Some programmers can add over 300rwhp

Yeah, he was talking about getting one down into the 11s. From everything I read the trans is the weak link in going faster. The front end lightness is primarily a problem on the 1/2 ton gassers (ask me how I know ), the weight helps a lot w/ diesels. No doubt you've added some, but you ought to get a good dyno. Unless you've seen the #'s even 275 sounds kinda high, given what you have done.
