Wow, good guess--a former college student posts on a college football message board.

Oh, some of his supporters are definitely Marxist. I know one now who is a real die-hard (she claims not to support Obama b/c he is too moderate but of course voted for him anyway). It doesn't matter b/c Congress makes the laws.

I was just asking so I could have that established. Do you mind me asking your GPA?

I don't remember what it was...somewhere between 3.7 and 3.9 probably. How is that relevant?

Do you think at graduation, you should have been given the average GPA of the college you graduated from?

Seriously. What line has to be crossed before his supporters start stating the obvious and openly support Marxism itself.
Supporters already openly support the underlying policies just not the negative connotation associated with the term, Marxism.

I'll ask again: what "Marxist" positions does Obama support?

When are people going to learn what Marxism means? Also, referring to Obama as a marxist allows squishy Republicans to imagine that the Mitt Romneys of the world are an actual alternative. It's a fake otherness that creates a fake choice. Jackass.

You're attempting to draw a very poor analogy.

When he, like, does something Marxist.

ETA on when the virtues of Marxism are openly debated?
All of the time. "I like your Christ. I don't like your Christians." -Ghandi Think about that quote for a minute, and see how that line of thinking could apply here. Just because a lot of Marxists and Marxist states have failed miserably does not mean that there is zero merit in discussing what it is that Marx wrote. Marx was a philosopher. He wasn't a politician. If you read what he wrote from a philosophical standpoint, then it raises a lot of great and interesting questions. If you read it as a prescription for the ills of government then, well...

Clearly you know nothing about Karl Marx. And if you think that you do, why don't you tell me what the main theme of his Communist Manifesto is... Don't worry I will wait.

You have no idea what Marx wrote, do you. Marx argued for the communal ownership of the means of production. "Redistribution of wealth" isn't Marxism, it's socialism, and while the two are related they're not the same thing.

ETA: Marx also wrote that the only way to accomplish this was via violent revolution, so really the policies of a democratically elected government led by well-connected and established millionaires is pretty far from Marxist.

I know some Romney supporters that are unashamedly racist. So, by your logic, that's prima facie evidence of Romney's racism, right?

"There is no difference between Marxism and Socialism, except in the means of achieving the same end...the subjugation of the individual to the power of the state. Marxism uses force, Socialism uses the vote. Murder as opposed to Suicide." ....Ayn Rand I choose to call Obama a Communist. But if you'd like to call him a Marxist or a Socialist that's fine with me. He believes in the subjugation of the individual to the collective. He believes in a totalitarian state unfettered by the restrictions of the Constitution.
