either way, I'd recommend Highline Park at night. It's really a beautiful little area. LINK Stay out of lower Manhattan right now though. It's still without electricity for the most part. Also if you have time to go to Queens, Astoria is a really neat area. Highly recommend it. Have fun! Pm me if you wanna meet up

$25 now - but much more realistic. You really do get a lot more for your money these days.

The wife and I will be there the 19th-23rd. I've never been but she's been a bunch. we're going on the Yankee Stadium tour ($20), going to see Book of Mormon, and also Ground Zero and Rock Center. Also going to catch Badfish (sublime tribute band) at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, and have a nice run through Central park. I'm looking forward to it. I've heard its bananas there over the holidays. Oh well, at least i won't be at work!

what about shopping? i don't mean victoria's secret either..more of 'a christmas story' type of thing..a good place to window shop and get the vibe going. don't much care if we actually walk away with any merchandise.

Bleecker Street in the W. village or you could hit the crazyness of Soho, it's out of control though during the Christmas time.

Definitely the Rockettes Christmas Show. I wouldn't miss it if I were there.
i saw this a few years ago and it was fricking horrible. And expensive. Go see an off broadway show, cheaper, smaller theaters and a ton of fun. Go ice skating outside, its really fun. FAO schwartz is kinda awesome, so hit that. It will be a complete zoo. Go see some live music. There are great bands playing every single night in NYC.

I dont live in the city, so can't comment. I am sure there are music guides. Try the local free paper listings. if you are on any specific music websites, you might want to try asking there. I am sure they would have NYC residents. And might have some suggestions.

that's in the burg ,if you've never kicked it in Williamsburg, you def need to go check it out, but just take a cab over there it's not far at all, that cab cost will be nothing, not worth waiting on the subway and walking.

Make sure you bring your ear gauges and skinny jeans though.
