I've been towed twice by Riverside from apartments around LSU. It ended up being around $250 both times and both times I had no idea I was parked illegally. The fees are ridiculous and should be lowered.

I think the article does a good job of mentioning that while people are pissed about getting towed, the bigger problem is the parking and transportation situation.
There is a lack of convenient public transportation to nightlife, and parking is a premium.
It doesn't help when you have a company that exploits the system by charging max fees to predominately college students.

Right. I think in Philly's thread, the manager of Freds and of a Hooters both said No way they would tow an obvious patron's car(in the parking lot about 12-14 hours max)

My biggest issue with them is places like lake beau pre where there are always a shite load of parking places but only like 5 visitor parking places. Once those fill up, where are people supposed to park?
