| The numbers game (Posted on 11/14/12 at 10:37 am)
Has anyone done an analysis of exactly how many recruits LSU can take in this class? I know there's been some discussion that some of the EE's will count against last year's numbers, and I'm assuming so will Avery Johnson. What about the other casualties from last year's class? How does D'haquille Williams fit in? How many of our current commitments are not expected to be in this class because of grades? How many spots do we really have left? Anyone?

The Advocate indicated that Johnson, Leslie, Jennings, Retig, and Pocic would all come in Jan, with some of those counting back since lsu only enrolled 21 from last year I read somewhere that Lewis Neal wanted to come in Jan but will have to wait because there is no room and he was behind the others as far as submitting paperwork

Also, Lacouture and Stokes will be midtermers as well per Advocate article - not sure if they are right or not.

I'm not sure, but I think they can enroll midterm and pay for one semester then go on scholarship. Kind of like pre-greyshirting or something.

As for LaCouture and Stokes, I'm sure they were told that they would not be on scholly if they EEed. Miller was the exception and got bumped for Kiel.

Supposedly Pocic and Diarse signed their LOI today and will be EEs. Look for Beckwith, Bain, RSJ, and Willis to be top priorities from here on out and we prob get 2 at most.

Just a point of information. An football athlete can only sign a LOI duing the signing period which runs from signing day in Feb to about April 1st. EEs never really sign a LOI. What they do sign are his scholarship papers. An athlete that signs an LOI is contractually bound to the school for first year. An EE is not officially bound to the school until he actually attends a class.
