My dog seems sick - she's older so what does this mean? (Posted on 11/14/12 at 12:51 am)
My Mom called and said our dog, who is about 11 years old, laid in the same spot all day, never went outside to use the bathroom, and didn't eat anything. She would only drink out of my Mom's hand when she put it in front of her face.
Is this the beginning of the end...? Or is it possibly a little virus that she will get over?

probably not a good sign. might wanna get her to the vet first thing in the AM in case it's something they can fix. especially if he/she starts throwing up.

take her to the vet
could be anything -- once had a dog that started laying down in the yard and refusing to come in the house. This went on for a couple of days then she suddenly got up and went back to normal

This. One of my dogs is going thru this. He is over 14 years old. My Vet is making a house call the first thing today. Oh, my Vet is my daughter. I;m sure she will be taking him home with her due to me not being able to take care of him.
