I know there was a thread last year or so with the info. Lots of places you can get them. Not really that hard, not that regulated. Yes you can get in trouble, you are small potatoes at one box. Personal opinion, not really worth it. Had just as good, but everyone's taste are different.

I think it's more of a myth that cubans are vastly superior to Dominican/Nicaraguan tobacco. I'm sure cubans are good, but it gets overhyped from us not being able to buy them here in the states. I've never smoked a cuban though, fwiw

Smoke what you like and like what you smoke. It all began in Cuba, though, that counts for a lot. Don't ask in public, big no-no, even on cigar boards, especially.

Didn't know this. I don't smoke cigars regularly. I wanted to get some for a bachelor party.

There are other good cigars. It isn't worth the hassle or risk.

Honestly if you don't smoke cigars regularly then it doesn't make sense for you to try and get cubans because you probably don't have the palate to even tell the difference. Just go to your local cigar shop and talk with the owner. He will point you in the right direction and I'm sure you won't be disappointed in your choice.

I've been involved on cigar forums for 12+ years, it's considered bad form, bad manners, whatever. You'll get very aggressive/passive-aggressive or sarcasm if you're lucky. The regulars expect you to establish yourself as a member of the community before they'll answer questions.

No. Get a Padron. Dollar for dollar much better than anything Cuban I've had.

I had a Kinky Friedman cigar for the first time today. Quite surprised at the smooth taste. Will buy again.

Padron 2000 or 3000 series is always good. The style you get depends on your personal preference of the ring gauge and if you like cylindrical/torpedo shape. I'll also recommend the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992

Are many of the guys regular cigar smokers? If not you should go mild.
