| My vote still has not been counted. (Posted on 11/13/12 at 9:14 am)
I have never early voted, and never signed up for it. I show up on election day. This election, I was marked as an early voter and had to enter a provisional ballot. I keep checking the status of the ballot, and it comes up with "no records found." There's something fishy about this election. 59 precincts in a city with NO Romney votes, other strange counts in Fla, absentee ballots not reaching military members, and ballots not getting counted in AZ...

Someone told me that they won't count the absentee ballots unless they can actually make a difference. So if Obama is up by 300k votes and there are only 30k absentee ballots, they aren't going to waste the time. Could be completely wrong, but would make some sense.

That would be horrible if true. How can the government argue your vote matters if they can disregard and not even count your vote under certain circumstances?

People thinking their vote matters. How cute.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's true. It makes sense in one respect and doesn't in another.

Yea, I hope that's not true. Every vote should be counted regardless of whether it affects the overall outcome.

That's part of the problem. Voting results should not be released until EVERY vote is counted.

It's the inner city, I'm really not surprised that there are no Romney voters in those precincts.

I'm glad they called all of the states for whichever candidate prior to every vote being counted.* Makes me feel real good about the direction of this country when a candidate concedes the office with millions of votes uncounted. *I realize Obama would still win. That's not the point. The point is our election system is like that of a 3rd world country. Fraud, incompetence, and media run propaganda mean more than an individual's vote.

I think there are some races that are still held up by this If you're looking to place blame though, I would start with the AZ Gov and Sec of State

I blame the entire process. Every person involved. On both sides of the aisle, in the media, and every where in between. 1. Why are politicians okay with accepting exit polls as official results in many, many elections? It is an insult to the people and their right to vote. Politicians of every party should demand that every vote be counted, even if someone is going to win 90-10. 2. Why is the media allowed to run the narrative in this country? When Romney took time to concede, he was berated on air like he was scum. Let the process work itself out. 3. Why do we as citizens allow this pony show to continue? We are all at fault.

Here's your problem - they were not precincts. They are subdivisions of "wards" in Philly. I forget the local terminology but they each have about 200 voters and are in very black neighborhoods.
