In town for a couple of days. Been to genusas, genos, mohawk, and danken trail. Looking for a couple of non chain ideas. Any price and menu. Go

Cotton, Sage, Rawz, Waterfront...all good. You have to do Cotton at least once. New menu just came out.

Cascio's right across the river in WM. Its new and has been fantastic. Get the Artichokes desiard and the Fried Snapper Tony. Cotton next to the river on the monroe side. I really like the wild game dishes like the rabbit and venison. Duck wraps are pretty on point.

My wife loves it. I prefer my sushi deep fried.

Very casual but very good. I order Thai and Vietnamese dishes only. Everything I've had has been excellent. You can crank up the spice(1 to 10) on any menue item. As for the sushi, my youngest loves it...but he loves grocery store sushi, too. I think it's fine...just not up to standards with a good quality Nola place.

Haha. Well I'll have to try it then. On another note for those blessed by God enough to live in the NELA , has anyone tried that new thai place in WM (i think its called something spice or spice something)? I heard it was pretty solid.

If you like Indian cuisine, the place at the corner of either 4th or 3rd and Hudson is damn good.

Rays is still open but it's not the same. Place called the Magic Grill is doing a pretty good rendition of all Rays old recipes.

I guess so. I quit going a couple years ago because they sucked so bad. Maybe it's gotten back on track, but I doubt it.

Melvin's had a good steak. I haven't been there in a couple of years though.

For a real good southern lunch, go to Big Mommas down on South Second St. Take your gun with you, but leave it in the car. Make sure it ain't chitlin day if you don't like the smell.
