no shite right like obama is just going to say "oh the nation of Luuisiana has closed down the Mississippi unless we pay them tribute for every ship? What will we do, we are crushed now" The conversation would be more like "oh, the nation of Louisiana wants to act hard? Send an aircraft carrier to New Orleans"

I like how these people seriously think they can do this. Lets try to cut the US off the mississippi river. Boy I bet louisiana's navy is perfectly capable of blockading the river and staving off the United States. Lets all bite the hand that feeds us. I can see it now. 20,000 bass boats with .30-06's staving off a couple of destroyers and a few Los Angela's class ballistic subs.

Here's another thing to consider, Louisianan in fact belongs to the USG , as do many other states. They were purchased. Are you prepared to purchase the land back from the USG at an appropriate price? Doubtful.

Yal really think the military would side with BO and his idiots, have yall been watching the news. We have a volunteer army dont forget that, listen to BO and attack your family, I think most would not. And yes, they wouldn't shut down the river or turn off the spigots but the US would have to start paying for it instead of charging for it.

The French stole it from the Native Americans. Since it is illegal to possess stolen property title can not pass. The sale is a nullity. Therefore the U.S. does not legitimately own it. If anyone is owed anything its the Native Americans so we'll have to get more casinos for them.

So what would you do with ALL the people in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Dallas, Houston, El Paso, San Antonio, etc that don't want to secede? You won't be able to remove them forcibly. I promise you that. And you better believe the U.S. Govt will supply them with weapons to fight back, we're known for doing that. ETA: And those people aren't AFRAID to die. The lil kids grow up knowing they'll probably get murdered by the age of 21.

Believe me you'll have to fight to secede. Those people will not want to be apart of your govt, and they sure as hell won't leave their home states or cities to make you happy. I can remember the threads from last week talking about lets kick certain people out!!! TRY IT if you WANT. DIPSHIT!!!

Even if the military turned coat, the US would still have the economic power to hurt any defected state. Sanctions, embargos, and tariffs would have the Mississippi open like a hussy on prom night. I'm gonna guess that LA would still want goods shipped in, and without a unified body regulating interstate commerce, good luck. Place would probably start looking like Cuba in >30 years. Everyone would be stuck driving 2012 vehicles.
