| Another thousand uncounted ballots appear in Florida (Posted on 11/13/12 at 10:29 am)
LINK Seven days after the election ended, and two days after the results were unofficially certified, Broward elections workers Monday said they had found 963 unaccounted-for ballots in a warehouse. They were put in the wrong place, members of the Broward County Canvassing Board were told on Monday. "How can you lose them? This is terrible,'' said Dania Beach candidate Chickie Brandimarte, whose close race won't be called until at least Tuesday. @@@ Meanwhile in the Wesr election around 17,000 votes were recounted and Wesr picked up 500 votes. County is refusing to recount the rest. @@@ Wonder where the military ballots went?

Moral of the story: Florida is still a clusterfrick.

how can you appreciate a system in which each vote doesn't matter? elections are determined on projections and the loser concedes prior to every vote being counted. then, most places stop counting the votes. Why can't we just let every vote be counted, then decide who won?

From this story, it appears that the UN didn't do their job.

Eliminate the electoral college, disallow the release of results until every vote has been counted, disallow ANY kind of exit polling. Having to wait a few days won't go over well with the news networks, but it would protect the integrity of our election process. Oh, and we should move towards proportional representation.

here here. But every vote SHOULD count. There is no reason for us to have this clusterfrick of an election process. FWIW, the governor of FL and the sec of state are both republicans. So its unlikely a democratic conspiracy, instead its likely pure incompetence.

This election was so rigged it isnt even funny. There were whole precincts in some states especially Philly that went 100% BO, multiple ones, more that went 97% or better.

Since the MSM isn't reporting the facts: West is up by 2000 votes at 12:30. The Democrat county election supervisor announces that she recounted the early voting before Nov. 1 and tha added 4500 votes for West's opponent. These were early votes. Should have been counted and recounted days before the election. West complains. Election Supervisor announces on Sunday (2 days ago) all the early votes will be recounted starting 7 am. West and his team show up. She says, "We're just recounting Nov 1-3." "What about the early voting where you vote 4500 votes?" "Nope." nov 1-3 is recount. 530 more West votes appear and the gap is now 2,000. Wear is in court asking all the early voting to be recounted. (This new 1000 vote find is for a different county, but shows the incompetence and/or fraud.)

Regardless of who the fraud may or may not benefit, the fact that it could so easily be fixed and is not is what is truly sad. Districts in OH have more registered voters than residents. No problem, nothing to see here. Issue every voter ID/Voter card they have to present to vote. Dont have your card? Then you have to prove your residency in that precinct via drivers license and/or bills, something else. Ill gladly wait a few more mins when voting if it means we are making sure that only people who can vote are voting. And really, why in 2012 are we still using paper ballots? If the "cloud" is safe enough to do all of our commerce in, would it really be too crazy to switch everything to electronic voting machines? No recounts, "hanging chads", etc.

this just doesn't pass the smell test. Sec of state of FL - republican Sec of state of OH - republican Sec of state of PA - republican sec of state of CO - republican Those swing states elections were controlled by republican sec of states. If they rigged it, they either did a shitty job or rigged it for obama.

However, Ohio has yet to finish counting its provisional ballots, along with some mail ballots that were postmarked before Election Day but had yet to reach their precincts. That could add about 325,000 ballots to the state’s total, bringing turnout there close to its 2008 levels. In Pennsylvania, there may be more of a true decline, although about two dozen precincts in Philadelphia had yet to report their results as of Monday morning. As the rest of the votes come in from California, Mr. Obama could add about 700,000 more votes in his margin against Mr. Romney, assuming that the remaining votes are divided between the candidates in about the same proportions as the ones counted so far. Those votes could be enough to push Mr. Obama’s margin of victory in the national popular vote, reported at 2.7 percent as of Monday morning, to slightly higher than 3 percent.
Just because votes haven't been counted doesn't mean they're all for Romney.

I still don't see how some states are still using paper ballots, especially after the fiasco in 2000. Louisiana is waaaay ahead of the curve when it comes to running elections, compared to other states.

and yet on the other hand I can't really trust that a computer will correctly tabulate all the votes either.
