i'm just trying to get a list of the social freedoms that matter to them and the ones that don't
for this fear of an attack on social freedoms, it doesn't appear that they're too concerned about all of them

I would love to see the same level of dismissal of Jewish motives for voting Democratic than is suggested about Blacks/Hispanics.
I would love to hear Limbaugh,Hannity,O'reilly,etc....have the same level of bitterness/foolishness towards the Jewish community:
"Jewish Americans are known for their frugality , no wonder they vote themselves FREE STUFF"
The knuckleheads on Tigerdroppings seem to believe the MYTH that all Jewish Americans are Rich/financially successful I assume?
When 50% of Hispanics voted for Bush I never heard this much 'they just ant free stuff' talk.
Even Mike Huckabee got 48% of the BLACK vote in his re-election bid as Governor of Arkansas. Did those Blacks in Arkansas want 'free stuff'?
The bigoted GOP base & their foolish overall anti immigration rhetoric/stereotypes of minorities (as evidenced here) as 'takers' has effectively alienated most minorities.
Maybe the GOP should be trying to understand how Bush got 44% Hispanic vote & Huckabee 48% Black vote instead of dismissing/disrespecting them.

of course not. they're one of the most well off racial/ethnic groups in this country though. they may be #1 (which is skewed b/c there are some super rich jewish people and a small population...as well as what i'd assume is a high rate of urban living, which will mean higher income due to COL adjustments)

like i said in another thread. he was a big name in the southwest, as governor of TX. his brother was governor of Florida. if you have 2 guys that latinos identify with in TX, Florida, Arizona, and New Mexico, you're going to get a lot of latino votes

 Jon Stewart owned that poor guy.
I was just making the point of how the GOP blowhards (Rush,O'Reilly,etc.....)& it's base can disrespect immigrants(who come for WORK) & Blacks as wanting 'FREE STUFF",but they will never EVER say that garbage about others who vote heavily Democrat.
They are playing to a certain segment of the GOP that believes immigrants & Blacks want 'Free stuff'.
NO GROUP wants 'free stuff' & until the GOP can figure out how BUSH got around 45% of the Hispanic vote & Mike Huckabee once got 48% of the Black vote in Arkansas they will keep losing minorities.
The attitudes exhibited here is exactly why Blacks, Hispanics & minorities in general feel alienated by the GOP

if you agree, then why would Jews care, since it's obvious that Rush (and his ilk) don't touch their population?

Disagree. It's not because of the blowhards in the media but because of the actual politicians themselves and the folks who run their campaigns. I hate John McCain's foreign policy views, but I admire him as a person. He made it pretty clear early on in his 2008 campaign that he had no use for bomb throwers and race baiters when he threw Bill Cunningham under the bus, and later on confronted a supporter at one of his own campaign rallies for suggesting that Obama was a terrorist. He also dug in his heals against supporters who wanted to make Jeremiah Wright a major campaign issue. Trust me when I tell you that all of these things weren't lost on Black folks because I still hear these things mentioned from time to time among friends and family.
More recently, he slammed Michelle Bachmann and the other Islamaphobes for suggesting that Hillary Clinton's aide Huma Abedin was a covert agent for radical Islamists. He's also referred to Limbaugh as a circus clown and said he doesn't understand why any politician would care what he has to say. Based on things I read and heard from him, his wife and his daughter Meghan, it was his experience with his adopted Bangladeshi daughter Bridget and what they went through in South Carolina in 2000 that sensitized them on the issue of race.
Contrast him to Mitt Romney. Not only can I not think of a single instance during his entire campaign that he ever stood up to the bomb throwers on his side, he even sought out and recieved the endorsement of Donald Trump, one of the biggest bomb throwers in America. In 2008, Blacks voted for Obama, it had nothing to do with McCain. In 2012, a lot of Blacks who became disillusioned with Obama and might have been inclined to stay home, voted against Romney out of anger. But Obama still got fewer Black votes in 2012 than 2008 because the history card only works one time. Also keep in mind that Romney did worse than McCain among both Hispanics and Asains. Why is that?
