Louisiana isn't in the same league as TX. The entire population of LA is equal to 75% of greater Houston. Maybe they'd let it be a territory.

Because America wouldn't let them Be successful. The government would trade embargo them and all the major corporations would be forced to move out. They would also not have any military of their own and would proabably be invaded for their oil. The government would also have about 75 million military bases inside this country and there is nothing that Tx could do about it

I doubt Louisiana by itself has the economy or the capital to survive the awkward stage where everyone in the world is going to decide whether to recognize our independence or to trust our economy. Nor do we have our state budget situation under control. This is given that we control the Mississippi and control of our oil off shore and get royalties from pipes running through la

Or the two could enter into a Union of their own and with others. Obviously LA is not in the same boat as Texas in regard to unilateral secession. But nor have I heard anyone argue that. I think most recognize that Louisiana would need to piggy back. But there's nothing to say that the new governmental system wouldn't enhance LA's prosperity in the future as well.

Whatever you want to believe. Having more control over it's resources may do just the opposite. It's all theoretical because it will never happen

If the government would trade embargo, Louisiana would just shut down the nation's trade on the Mississippi (good bye corn industry) and shut off most of the Northeast's natural gas while they freeze through the winter.

You are clearly economically illiterate. If anything the corporate tax system that Texas gets as part of the United States hurts it's economy. An independent Texas would be included in NAFTA so any interstate commerce problems are null. There is no real downside for Texas.

I would assume that would lead to war.
