agree that it shouldn't be the go to assumption, but in this scenario exit polling showed that Hispanics, by in large, have an economically liberal outlook. Only 11% named debt and deficit as their primary concern. The Republicans will have huge problems with Hispanics even if they are recognized for championing amnesty.
Bush & McCain(Texas & Arizona ironically) who understand this issue have championed it , BUT they get fierce push back from their own Party. Perry(Texas who understands) nearly got Jeered & nearly run from the primaries for simply allowing 'in state' tuition to immigrant Children.
No one has yet to explain why Bush got nearly 50% of the Hispanic vote. Free stuff?
Some Hispanics were still voting loyally Republican because of Reagan amnesty.
Hispanics liked the GOP. It's the GOP turning on Hispanics it seems to them with the anti immigrant vitriol.
