The Feds must be laughing.
Louisiana receives more from the Federal Government than its citizens pay in. Yet it wants to leave?
Good or bad?

**** looks like Louisiana Started it - but it has spread to 50 States. The White House promises to review it. What will become of this? Is it good or bad? What if all states leave?

Well, if they secede they could end entitlements in the state completely and cut taxes so rich people would move here and poor people leave. Profit.

Does that count federal taxes on oil? I'm not saying you're wrong, but the federal government has a way of changing the meaning of a word in a sentence in order to make the sentence mean what they would like it to mean.

If LA was its own state, had a 15% flat tax, ended all entitlements except a basic medicare for the elderly and medicaid for children ONLY, LA would be staaacked. Assuming the US Navy didn't blockade our oil rigs.

We could also save a lot of money by getting out from under inane, wasteful regulations like corn-based ethanol, the EPA mandated "clean" gas blends that provide no actual benefit, or the COE practice of dumping dredged sediment off the edge of the continental shelf.

No one is ending entitlements Republicans included. Reform, maybe. However, I have no intention of living in a third world country where the rich are rich but have to live in compounds to be safe.
That being said, I encourage secession, I would love to watch this fail miserably from afar.
