Yeah, really can't blame the guy and doubt this is the first time he stepped out. According to the Poli Board, the wife's dad was a four star General and the Commandant of West Point when Petraeus was there.
Having read the Vanity Fair (or Rolling Stone?) article on him a few years ago, I could see him as the type to make a Political marriage and then keep a couple of hoez on the side or basically do what powerful men have done for centuries
