That movie was meh at best.
How it got nominated for best picture is beyond me. It's like the Shakespeare in Love of sci fi.

I did not like it the first time I saw it. Because I built it up too much in my head as the be movie ever becasue I love alien movies for some odd reason. Learn from that mistake. Now I think all movies are going to suck, so I am plesantly suprised when they are decent.
After rewatching it, it was pretty good movie. I mean compare it to DreamCatcher and you can see why it was nominated.

This is exactly what happened to me.
The ad campaign was so amazing.
It just wasn't what I thought it was gonna be.
But I like it a lot more now that I've seen it more than once.

The first part of District 9 is fantastic. But at some point it devolves into something kind of shitty.

9 was depressing and gross to me...but it was also a completely different take on the genre. I can understand why it got the attention it did. I have no desire to watch it again but I'm glad I saw it, hope they don't f'up the sequel.

I wanted them to make District 10, but this sounds much better.
